46 x 46cm — The Large-Format ESD Bag for Wide-Bar Machines
The I-Vac is LAVA's anti-static range, built for buyers protecting electronics rather than packing food.
Largest I-Vac Bag Size
Built for oversized electronics, large assemblies, full backplanes, wide boards, and grouped board shipments that do not fit smaller I-Vac formats.
Minimum Seal Bar Required
The full bag opening must be welded in one pass, so the machine needs a 46cm or wider seal bar.
Bags per Pack
Supplied as a commercial 100-bag pack for electronics, repair, industrial, and production environments.
Large-Format Protection for Oversized Electronics
The metallised barrier foil shields against electrostatic discharge, blocks moisture, and resists punctures, which makes it the right packaging for boards, drives, modules, and any component sensitive to static or humidity during storage and transport.
At 46 x 46cm, this is the largest bag in the range and the one for oversized hardware. Where the smaller I-Vac sizes handle individual components and standard boards, this size exists for the items that simply do not fit anything smaller.
Wide-Bar Machine Requirement
Because the bag is 46cm wide, it needs a machine with a 46cm or wider seal bar to weld the full opening.
In the LAVA range that is the V.400 Premium XL with its 46cm bar, the V.500 Premium XXL at 72cm, or the V.1200 Premium XXXL at 121cm. The V.350 and narrower machines cannot seal it.
Full Backplanes
Large backplanes and wide board assemblies can be sealed in one protective package when smaller I-Vac sizes do not provide enough width.
Large Multi-Board Assemblies
Multiple boards or populated assemblies can be grouped into a single sealed, protected package for shipment or storage.
Industrial Control Boards
Large industrial control boards and automation electronics can be protected against ESD, EMI, moisture, and handling damage.
Server and Networking Motherboards
Large server, networking, and rack-format electronics fit the large square format when standard board bags are too small.
Large Flat-Panel Electronics
Flat electronics, display control assemblies, panels, and wide modules can be packed without forcing the component into a smaller format.
Batched Board Shipments
Several boards can be grouped into one sealed shipment when the goal is one protected pack rather than individual smaller packs.
Premium XL
46cm seal bar. Compatible, but position the bag carefully because the 46cm opening leaves very little margin.
Premium XXL
72cm seal bar. Suitable for sealing this large I-Vac size with wider working clearance.
Premium XXXL
121cm seal bar. Suitable for very wide-format production and large electronics packaging operations.
External Sealer Advantage, Without Chamber-Only Limits
The same chamber-free advantage that applies across the I-Vac range applies here: the foil seals on a standard external vacuum sealer as well as a chamber machine, provided the bar is wide enough. An operation already running a wide-format LAVA external sealer can protect large electronics to military packaging standards without buying a dedicated chamber machine.
Standards and Barrier Protection
The foil meets the recognised standards for electronics packaging, including MIL-B-81705 Type 1 Class 1 and IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033, with a very low moisture transmission rate and high puncture resistance. The full standards breakdown and what each one certifies is covered on the I-Vac range page.
Best For
Full backplanes, large multi-board assemblies, industrial control boards, server and networking motherboards, large flat-panel electronics, and batched board shipments sealed together.
Machine Compatibility
Compatible with the V.400 Premium XL, V.500 Premium XXL, and V.1200 Premium XXXL only, in either chamber or external configuration. Confirm your machine has a 46cm or wider seal bar and is rated for aluminium composite foils before ordering.

We expected to buy a chamber vacuum sealer. Fortunately, this was not necessary as these bags work perfectly with our external vacuum sealer
