Where This Scale Fits in a Home Processing Workflow

Most kitchen scales top out at 5-10kg and have platforms sized for bowls and small trays. The Landig digital scale is built for a different task, weighing the full product at every stage of a meat processing or butchery session.

Before Grinding

Weighing a whole leg or a game haunch before breaking it down tells you the yield and helps calculate the right seasoning ratios for sausage mince. Standard recipe ratios for sausages, salt, spice, cure, are calculated per kilogram of meat. Getting the weight right before you start means accurate seasoning without having to adjust mid-mix.

After Grinding and Mixing

The 60kg capacity handles a full batch of mince in a large mixing tray or bowl placed on the 310x300mm platform. Weighing the mixed batch before filling lets you confirm total yield and divide accurately into fill quantities for the Landig 3L Sausage Filler.

For Portion Control Before Vacuum Sealing

Consistent portion weights before vacuum packaging produce consistent cook times and portion sizes. A 200g chicken breast and a 350g chicken breast in the same bag look similar; they cook differently. Weighing portions before sealing gives you predictable results from the freezer every time.

For Sausage and Charcuterie Production

Salt and cure percentages in charcuterie recipes are by weight. The margin for error is narrow — too little cure is a food safety issue, too much affects flavour. A scale accurate to 20g increments across the full 0-60kg range covers both the small precision measurements at the start of a batch and the full-batch totals that need to be checked before curing begins.

The Wall-Mountable Display

On a busy processing bench with a grinder, stuffer, and trays of meat, bench space is limited. The separate display unit on a 60-70cm coiled cable mounts to the wall above the bench, keeping the readout at eye level without the display taking up platform space. This is a practical design detail that matters in a working setup.

Stainless Steel Platform for Processing Work

The stainless steel platform is easy to clean and does not absorb moisture, fat, or meat residue. The 310 x 300mm surface is wide enough for a standard GN 1/2 gastronorm tray or a full boning tray, so you weigh the product in the same container it is already in rather than transferring it to a dedicated weighing vessel.

Best For

Home butchering and game processing with the Landig W100 Meat Grinder, sausage making portion calculation before the Landig 3L Sausage Filler, pre-vacuum-seal portion control, charcuterie cure and salt calculation, and any kitchen or workshop weighing task requiring a 60kg capacity.

Landig Digital Table Scale — Common Questions

What does "non-trade scale" mean?

A trade-certified scale is legally approved for commercial transactions where the price is based on weight, for example, a butcher shop selling beef by the kilogram at a counter. These scales must meet government calibration standards (Measurement Instruments Directive or equivalent) and be verified by an authorised body. The Landig digital scale does not carry trade certification, which means it cannot legally be used for retail selling by weight in a commercial setting. For home use, food processing, recipe production, and portioning where the weight reading is for your own use rather than billing a customer, the scale works normally.
For most home and small-batch production, yes. Standard sausage seasoning ratios operate in the range of 15-25g of salt per kilogram of meat, a 20g increment scale provides the accuracy needed for that calculation. For cure percentages in dry-cured meats where precision at 1-2g matters, a separate precision scale rated to 0.1g increments is recommended for the cure measurement specifically. The Landig scale handles the bulk meat weights accurately; a small jewellery-style precision scale handles the fine measurements.
Yes. It operates on batteries (not included) when the AC adapter is not available. Battery type is not specified in the product documentation, check the included instruction manual for the correct battery specification before purchasing batteries separately. Contact LAVA Australia if the manual is not included with delivery.
Yes. The display unit connects to the platform via a coiled cable that extends from 60 to 70 cm. The display can be wall-mounted at that height above the bench, keeping it at eye level and off the weighing surface. The wall-mounting bracket is included with the scale.
The platform is 310mm wide by 300mm deep. A standard 5-litre mixing bowl with a base diameter of approximately 200-220mm sits on the platform centrally. A GN 1/2 gastronorm tray (325 x 265mm) covers most of the platform. Products wider than 310mm or deeper than 300mm will overhang the edge, which affects reading accuracy.
