Why the V.300 Black Is the Most Popular Machine in the Range
The V.300 Black is where the LAVA range steps up from a capable home machine to something that performs properly in a commercial or high-volume setting.
Compared to the V.200 Premium X, it adds 100 watts of power, an extra 0.02 bar of vacuum depth (reaching -0.96 bar), and a built-in analogue pressure gauge with the L+ pressure regulation system included as standard. That last point is the one that matters most for a wide range of users. The pressure gauge lets you see exactly where the vacuum is during every cycle, and the L+ regulator lets you dial it back to as low as -0.3 bar for pressure-sensitive foods without any guesswork.
It also comes with two upgrades inside the pump housing that the V.100 and V.200 range does not have: a patented two-stage filter system that blocks dust and metal particles from reaching the pump, and a stainless steel cylinder cover on the pump piston that maintains consistent pumping performance over time. These are not headline features. They are the kind of engineering details that explain why a V.300 Black bought today will still be pulling -0.96 bar in ten years.
It runs fully automatically, handles up to 1,000 consecutive sealings per session, and is built in southern Germany by the same family-owned manufacturer behind every machine in the range.

The Analogue Pressure Gauge
Every machine in the LAVA range pulls a strong vacuum. The V.300 Black is the first model in the range where you can actually see what it is doing in real time, in bar, on a proper analogue gauge.
During every cycle, the needle on the pressure gauge moves as the pump works, and you can watch it travel toward -0.96 bar. In fully automatic mode, the machine seals at maximum vacuum without any input from you. In manual mode, you watch the needle and press the seal button when you reach the vacuum depth you want — useful when you are sealing something that does not need full vacuum.
The L+ pressure regulator is included as standard on every V.300 Black. It works alongside the pressure gauge to let you set a reduced vacuum level — down to approximately -0.3 bar — before the cycle starts. The machine then pumps to that level rather than maximum, seals, and stops. This is the correct way to seal delicate foods. Soft berries, ripe tomatoes, fresh bread, cooked sausages — all of them can be flattened or damaged by full vacuum. The L+ regulator prevents that while still producing a proper airtight seal.
On the V.100 Premium X and V.200 Premium X, the L+ regulator is an optional accessory and not particularly practical to use without a gauge to read the level against. On the V.300 Black, the gauge and the regulator work as a system. That combination is the reason this is the best-selling model in the range.
Two Upgrades That Are Not on the V.100 or V.200
The V.300 Black includes two internal engineering changes that do not appear on the lower models.
The first is a patented two-stage filter system inside the liquid separator. It catches fine particles — including powder, herbs, and metal grains from butchering or processing — before they reach the pump mechanism. On machines without this system, fine particles can accumulate inside the pump over time and degrade performance or cause early wear. The two-stage system prevents that.
The second is a stainless steel cover on the pump piston cylinder. This replaces the standard material used on the V.100 and V.200 pump housings and gives the V.300 Black pump a harder-wearing internal surface that maintains consistent pumping force over long-term use. You will not notice a difference in year one. You will notice it in year five or ten when the machine is still pulling the same vacuum it did the day it arrived.
Fully Automatic
The V.300 Black operates fully automatically from the moment the lid is closed. The pump starts, draws down to -0.96 bar, the seal fires, and the lid ventilates and releases automatically via the solenoid system. You do not press a separate seal button, and you do not manually release the lid.
This is the same fully automatic operation as the V.200 Premium X. The addition on the V.300 Black is that the process is now accompanied by a precise pressure gauge reading, so you know exactly what happened during every cycle rather than inferring it from an LED bar.
When using the L+ pressure regulator, the operation shifts to manual for the seal step only — you watch the needle reach your target pressure and press the seal button yourself. The pump still starts automatically. Only the seal trigger changes.
The LCS (LAVA Closing System) is also standard. It seals the lid after a short press rather than requiring you to hold it down throughout the vacuuming cycle, which saves time during high-volume sessions.
Double Weld on Every Bag
The V.300 Black puts two separate weld lines on every bag — each approximately 4mm wide — across the full 34cm width. For meat, fish, and anything with liquid content near the seal area, this is the right way to seal. If there is a weak spot in one seam, the second seam holds. For drier foods the double seal is not necessary over-engineering, but it adds nothing to the cycle time and the security it provides on wet foods is worth it.
The double weld is standard across the V.100 Premium X, V.200 Premium X, V.300, and V.300 Premium X. It is not available on the base V.100, which uses a single seal.
V.300 Black vs V.300 Premium X
These two machines look similar on the spec sheet, so it is worth being precise about what actually differs.
| Specification | V.300 Premium X | V.300 Black |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 500W | 600W |
| Vacuum Pressure | -0.94 bar | -0.96 bar |
| Pump Filter | Standard | Patented 2-stage |
| Cylinder Cover | Standard | Stainless steel |
| Pressure Gauge | Yes | Yes |
| L+ Regulation | Standard | Standard |
| Double Seal | Yes | Yes |
| Operation | Fully automatic | Fully automatic |
| Colour | Grey / Silver | Matte Black |
The V.300 Black runs 100W more power, reaches slightly deeper vacuum (-0.96 bar vs -0.94 bar), and includes the two-stage filter system and stainless steel cylinder cover that the Premium X does not. If you are sealing primarily at home with mostly meat, fish, and vegetables, the V.300 Premium X is a strong machine. If you want the highest-performing double-seal machine in the range before stepping up to triple-seal commercial units, the V.300 Black is the pick.
The V.300 Premium X page has a full breakdown of that model if you want to compare in detail.
Container Mode, Jars, Adjustable Sealing Times
One button switches the V.300 Black to container mode. It works with LAVA vacuum containers (glass, plastic, stainless steel), standard preserving jars with a compatible valve lid, and cans or pots with a vacuum valve. Container mode is useful for marinating quickly, the vacuum draws the marinade into the meat in a fraction of the time it takes in the fridge and for preserving seasonal produce in sealed jars.
Sealing time is fully adjustable, covering everything from very thin dry-aging bags through to 200-micron industrial foil. The removable drip tray and the secondary liquid receiver near the bag locator both protect the pump from liquid drawn in during sealing. The oversized sealing transformer prevents overheating through extended runs.
Compatible Bags, Rolls, and Accessories
The V.300 Black works with any embossed vacuum bag or roll up to 34cm wide. LAVA’s vacuum sealer bags and vacuum seal rolls are Swiss-made from plasticizer-free PE/PA material — odour-free, taste-neutral, and rated for long-term freezer storage. They are compatible with every vacuum packing machine on the market.
For dry-aging beef or lamb at home, LAVA’s dry-aging bags work directly with the V.300 Black via the adjustable sealing time. For sous vide cooking, pair it with the LAVA sous vide stick — seal at -0.96 bar for a tight, consistent bag every time.
Who Uses the V.300 Black
Home users who want proper pressure control: If you seal a mix of foods — dense cuts of meat alongside soft berries or fresh herbs — the L+ regulator and pressure gauge let you handle both without crushing anything. This is the key reason buyers step up from the V.200 to the V.300.
Hunters, fishermen, and butchers processing in volume: The fully automatic cycle, 1,000-bag consecutive capacity, and the -0.96 bar depth handle large batches of wet product without any issues. The two-stage filter system provides added protection when working in dusty or particle-heavy environments.
Restaurant and catering operators running daily sealing: The V.300 Black is the most capable machine in the double-seal range before stepping up to the commercial triple-seal units. Its consistent pump performance and German-made build quality make it suited to daily commercial use.
Sous vide cooks who want precision: The pressure gauge shows exactly what vacuum you are sealing at, and the L+ regulator lets you fine-tune it for different proteins and cook methods.
Dry-agers: The combination of -0.96 bar vacuum depth and adjustable sealing time makes it well-suited to working with thin dry-aging bags that require a careful seal.

V.300 Black vs. V.200 Premium X: The V.300 Black adds the pressure gauge, L+ regulation as standard, two-stage pump filter, stainless steel cylinder cover, and 100 more watts of power. If you seal a variety of food types or want to see exactly what the machine is doing during every cycle, the V.300 Black is worth the step up.
V.300 Black vs. V.333 Black: The V.333 Black steps up to a triple seal weld, and even stronger 800W. It is the right choice if you need the extra closure security of three seam lines for particularly wet high-liquid products, or if you are scaling up to heavier commercial use. For most users who seal meat, fish, and general foods at home or in a small commercial setting, the V.300 Black covers the need.

LAVA V.300 Black - Common Questions
What is the difference between the V.300 Black and the V.200 Premium X?
Three main things. First, the V.300 Black has an analogue pressure gauge that shows the exact vacuum level in bar during every cycle. The V.200 Premium X has an LED bar display that gives a visual indicator but no precise reading. Second, the V.300 Black includes the L+ pressure regulator as standard, which lets you reduce the vacuum level to approximately -0.3 bar for pressure-sensitive foods. On the V.200 Premium X, L+ is an optional add-on and harder to use accurately without a gauge to reference. Third, the V.300 Black runs at 600W vs 500W and reaches -0.96 bar vs -0.94 bar. It also includes the two-stage pump filter and stainless steel cylinder cover, which are not on the V.200.
What is the difference between the V.300 Black and the V.300 Premium X?
Vacuum depth and internal pump construction. The V.300 Black reaches -0.96 bar; the V.300 Premium X reaches -0.94 bar. The V.300 Black also has a patented two-stage filter system and a stainless steel pump cylinder cover that maintain pump performance over long-term use — neither is present on the Premium X. Both models have the pressure gauge, L+ regulation, double seal, and fully automatic operation.
What is the difference between the V.300 Black and the V.300 White?
Nothing functional. Identical specs, identical components. The difference is the housing colour. The V.300 White has a white housing; the V.300 Black has a matte black housing.
Can I use the V.300 Black to seal pressure-sensitive foods?
Yes. The L+ pressure regulator, included as standard, lets you set the vacuum level anywhere from approximately -0.3 bar up to the maximum -0.96 bar. You set the target level before the cycle starts, and the machine stops pumping when it reaches that level. The analogue pressure gauge shows you exactly where the vacuum is throughout.
What does the two-stage filter system do?
It sits inside the liquid separator and catches fine particles — including herb powder, flour, and metal grains from butchering — before they can reach the pump mechanism. Without this system, small particles drawn in during sealing can accumulate inside the pump over time and cause wear or reduced performance. The two-stage filter is a patented LAVA design and is not present on the V.100 or V.200 range.
What bags does it use?
Any embossed vacuum bag or roll up to 34cm wide. Bags up to 31cm sit within the removable drip tray. Bags between 31cm and 34cm seal across the chamber outside the tray. LAVA’s vacuum sealer bags and vacuum seal rolls cover this in full.
How does the V.300 Black compare to a V.333 or V.350?
The V.333 and V.350 are commercial triple-seal machines with wider seal bars (V.350 – 36cm) and higher wattage (800W and 900W respectively). The triple seal adds a third weld line for extra closure security on very high-liquid products. For most home and light commercial users sealing meat, fish, cheese, and vegetables, the V.300 Black is more than adequate. If you are running a butcher shop, a restaurant kitchen, or processing large daily volumes, the V.333 Black or V.350 Premium L is the step up.

I did some research to find the best vacuum sealer. I noticed that LAVA devices are top-rated, especially on European webpages. Again and again, I read that LAVA devices became test winners and left the competition far behind. In professional use, there seem to be no alternatives at all. Because of the much higher wattage, I bought the V.300 Black, and I am pleased with my decision. The price is high but more than competitive for the quality you get. I can only advise everyone to buy good quality once instead of buying the Chinese scrap several times.

Works great and love the double seal.
Mac H. (verified owner) –
Amazing to have a vacuum sealer that is the real deal! The previous sealer (which was not a bottom of the line brand) died after two years of moderate use. Now that I have a LAVA, I realised how poor the power was on the old vacuum sealer–even when it was brand new! Highly recommend LAVA V300 for its simplicity and workmanship. Well worth the extra spend for a lifetime product.

Bought for my business to replace 2 units which I won’t name (stocked by Harvey Norman). The other manufacturer claims theirs to be “commercial” (2 units – both developed a crack in the vacuum chamber after 13 months – rubbish). The La.va is strongly built, has very flexible settings – and super quiet! The sealing bar is also wider – enough to seal two of my packages at once. And great 2-stage liquid catching system to protect the pump. Overall I’m very impressed.
