What the V.200 Premium X Does Differently
The V.200 Premium X sits directly above the V.100 Premium X in the LAVA range, and the difference comes down to one thing: how much you have to do during the sealing cycle.
On the V.100 Premium X, the pump starts automatically, but you press a separate button to fire the seal when the bar display shows the right vacuum level. On the V.200 Premium X, you close the lid, and the machine handles everything: pump, vacuum, seal, without any further input from you. When it is done, you press the press release valve.
The pump, vacuum pressure, seal bar width, and wattage are identical between the two models. What changes is the workflow, and if you are sealing volume regularly, that difference adds up quickly.

What the V.200 Premium X Does Differently
Close the lid. That is your only job.
The V.200 Premium X takes it from there; the pump starts, draws down to -0.94 bar, the seal fires automatically, and the lid releases on its own when the cycle is complete. You do not need to watch the display or press anything during the cycle.
For anyone sealing large batches, a full hunt’s worth of game, a bulk buy from the market, or a weekend of batch cooking, this makes a real difference. You prepare the next bag while the machine finishes the current one. You do not have to stand over it.
You also have the option to switch to manual operation with a button press on the control panel. In manual mode, you watch the LED bar and fire the seal when you want to, which gives you more control over vacuum depth for softer or more delicate foods. Both modes are available on the same machine.
After the sealing cycle completes, you release the vacuum by pressing the pressure release button.
Double Seal Two Seam Lines on Every Bag
Every bag sealed by the V.200 Premium X gets two separate sealing lines, each approximately 4mm wide. They sit side by side across the full 34cm width of the bag.
For dry foods, vegetables, and most home-use applications, one seam would hold fine. But for meat, fish, and anything marinated or containing liquid near the seal line, the double seal eliminates the weak point. If one line has a slight gap or imperfection, the second line catches it. The result is a more reliable seal on the foods where a failed seal actually matters.
The double seal is standard across the V.100 Premium X, V.200 Premium X, and V.300 range. It is not a feature of the base V.100, which uses a single seal.
The LTP Pump 35 Litres per Minute, -0.94 Bar
The V.200 Premium X uses the LAVA Turbo Pump (LTP), a double-ball-bearing piston pump that pulls 35 litres of air per minute and reaches -0.94 bar of negative pressure.
The double-ball-bearing construction reduces friction and wear over time compared to single-bearing pumps. It also runs quietly under load, which matters when you are working through a large batch and the machine is running continuously.
The same LTP pump is found in the V.100 Premium X and the V.300 Premium X. The vacuum depth and speed are identical across all three. The step up to the V.300 Black or V.300 White adds 100 more watts and an extra 0.02 bar of vacuum pressure (-0.96 bar vs -0.94 bar) , a meaningful difference for anyone working with dense, hard-to-seal cuts.
LAVA spare parts are guaranteed available for at least 20 years from purchase.
LED Pressure Display
The V.200 Premium X has an LED pressure bar that shows the current vacuum level as the pump runs. In automatic mode, this is informational the machine will seal at the right point regardless. In manual mode, it tells you exactly when to press the seal button.
The LED bar gives you a clear visual read, but it does not show an exact pressure value in bar or mbar. That level of precision is available on the V.300 Black and V.300 White, both of which have a built-in analogue pressure gauge showing the exact vacuum level during the cycle. If you regularly seal pressure-sensitive foods and need precise control over vacuum depth, that gauge is a practical upgrade.
Bags, Rolls, and Accessories
The V.200 Premium X works with any embossed vacuum sealer bag or roll up to 34cm wide. LAVA’s vacuum sealer bags and vacuum seal rolls are produced in Switzerland from plasticiser-free PE/PA material, taste-neutral, odour-free, and built for long freezer storage.
For home dry-aging, LAVA’s dry-aging bags are compatible with this machine via the adjustable sealing time, and are purpose-built for beef and lamb aged in a domestic fridge.
For sous vide cooking, the V.200 Premium X pairs directly with LAVA’s sous vide sticks. Seal the protein, set the water bath temperature, and cook to a consistent internal temperature without any guesswork. The sealed bag retains all the moisture and flavour that open-pan cooking loses.
Uncompromising
Quality
Worried about pump performance decline or weak technology? Not with Lava. Our vacuum devices are exceptionally rugged and long-lasting. In case of any malfunction, you have the option to replace individual components for a minimum of 20 years from the date of purchase. Plus, you can easily replace wear and tear parts yourself.
Who Uses the V.200 Premium X
Hunters and fishermen who seal in volume: After a full day’s hunting or fishing, you want to move through bags quickly without babysitting the machine. Load, close the lid, and prepare the next bag while the current one seals. Repeat 200 times.
Home cooks who batch-cook regularly: Set up a production line. The automatic cycle means the machine is always one step ahead of you.
Bulk buyers: Buy in larger quantities at better prices, seal everything on the same day, and it keeps for months in the freezer without any loss of quality.
Anyone who finds manual steps slowing them down: If the extra button press on the V.100 Premium X feels like friction during a long session, the V.200 removes it.
Sous vide cooks: Seal consistently at -0.94 bar every time without watching the pressure display, and the bag comes out at the same vacuum level every cycle.

V.200 Premium X vs. V.100 Premium X: Identical specs. The difference is that the V.200 seals automatically without a separate button press. If you value a hands-off cycle and regularly seal volume, the V.200 is worth the step up.
V.200 Premium X vs. V.300 Black / White: The V.300 adds 100W, an extra 0.02 bar of vacuum pressure (-0.96 bar), a built-in analogue pressure gauge, and standard pressure regulation for precise control. If you work with a wide variety of food types, including pressure-sensitive items, or want the extra vacuum depth for dense cuts, the V.300 Black or V.300 White is the next step.

LAVA V.200 Premium X Common Questions
What is the difference between the V.200 Premium X and the V.100 Premium X?
The specs are identical: same pump, same wattage, same vacuum pressure, same seal bar. The difference is how the cycle works. On the V.100 Premium X, the pump starts automatically, but you press a separate Seal button when the bar display shows the desired vacuum level. On the V.200 Premium X, the full cycle runs automatically with no mid-cycle input. If you want a hands-off process and to seal in volume, the V.200 is the better fit.
What is the difference between the V.200 Premium X and the V.300?
The V.300 Black and V.300 White add three things: more power (600W vs 500W), slightly higher vacuum pressure (-0.96 bar vs -0.94 bar), and a built-in analogue pressure gauge that shows the exact vacuum level during the cycle. The pressure gauge also makes the L+ pressure regulation accessory practical to use, which is why it is included as standard on the V.300 range. If you regularly seal pressure-sensitive foods or want precise vacuum control as part of your workflow, the V.300 is worth the step up.
Can I use the V.200 Premium X in manual mode?
Yes. A button on the control panel switches between automatic and manual operation. In manual mode, you monitor the LED pressure bar and press the seal button to stop the vacuum and fire the weld. This is useful for pressure-sensitive foods like soft cheeses or berries, where you want to stop well below maximum vacuum.
Can I adjust the vacuum pressure precisely?
Not recommended. It is difficult with the pressure relief valve, and even with the optional L+ pressure regulator accessory (not included as standard), it is not practical. The LED bar shows the vacuum level visually but does not display an exact value in bar or mbar. If precise pressure adjustment is a regular requirement, the V.300 range with its analogue pressure gauge and L+ pressure regulator is more practical.
What bags does the V.200 Premium X use?
Any embossed vacuum bag or roll up to 34cm wide. Bags up to 31cm fit inside the removable drip tray. Bags between 31cm and 34cm seal across the sealing chamber outside the tray. LAVA’s vacuum sealer bags and vacuum seal rolls cover this range in full.
Does it work with vacuum containers and jars?
Yes. One button press switches it to container mode. It works with LAVA G-line containers (glass, plastic, stainless steel), standard preserving jars with a vacuum lid, and pots or cans with a compatible valve.
How many bags can it seal in a row?
Up to 1,000 consecutive sealings. The fan-cooled housing and oversized sealing transformer prevent overheating during extended runs.

Have had another vacuum sealer which broke down and after a bit of research I thought I would give Lava a try. I just wish I had done it sooner. This is a great cryovak machine. It’s first time I bagged a 50kg bulk order of beef from my butcher. I didn’t have to stop even once. Compare to my old vacuum sealer… OMG – I am absolutely happy with my purchase!

That is exactly what I needed and was looking for. The quality of this cryovac machine is at least 10 times better than all the cheap devices half the cost. I am glad I paid the money for real quality.

OMG! This machine was so easy to use and WOW the vacuum sucking and sealing power is amazing. We buy meat in bulk and each time end up having to bag up anywhere between 25-50 bags of meat. The cheaper brands just can’t hand that kind of volume and we have blown through many cheaper brands in the past few years. My husband was blown away how quickly he got through all the bagging up using our new La.Va vacuum sealer. No having to worry about the machine overheating was fantastic. We are definitely happy we decided to invest in quality this time around.
