LAVA V.100 Premium X
The LAVA V.100 Premium X is a German-made vacuum packing machine designed for regular, high-volume use at home. If you seal large batches of meat after a hunt, pack fresh fish straight off the boat, or want to buy in bulk and properly store everything for months, this is the machine that handles it without skipping a beat.
Most cheap vacuum packers on the market use low-wattage transformers that overheat quickly and fail within a year or two of regular use. The V.100 Premium X is built differently. Every unit comes from the LAVA factory in southern Germany, where the same family-owned manufacturer has been producing professional vacuum packaging equipment for over 20 years. The pump, the sealing transformer, the housing, all of it is built to last decades, not seasons.
This machine runs up to 1,000 bags consecutively without overheating, thanks to a fan-cooled casing and an oversized sealing transformer. That kind of endurance is what separates it from anything sold at a similar price point in Australia.

Double Seal, Why a Single Seam Is Not Enough
Most vacuum packers use a single seam seal. That works fine for dry goods, but when you are sealing meat, fish, or marinated items, products with moisture or liquid content, a single seam is a weak point. One small gap and air gets back in.
The V.100 Premium X uses a double seal of 2 x approximately 4mm. That means two separate seal lines on every bag, giving you twice the closure security. For anyone regularly sealing game meat, fresh catches, or anything going into long-term freezer storage, the double seal is not a nice-to-have; it is the right way to do it.
The same double-seal system is standard across the V.200 and V.300 range. You are not buying a compromised version here.
The LAVA Turbo Pump (LTP)
The pump is the heart of any vacuum packing machine, and LAVA does not downgrade it based on price tier.
The V.100 Premium X runs the LAVA Turbo Pump (LTP), the same double-ball-bearing piston pump found in the V.200 and V.300 Premium models. It pulls 35 litres per minute and reaches -0.94 bar of negative pressure, the same vacuum depth as the more expensive models in the range.
The double-ball-bearing design ensures the pump runs smoothly under load, with far less wear over time than single-bearing alternatives. LAVA guarantees spare parts availability for at least 20 years from the date of purchase.
If you buy a V.100 Premium X today and it needs a pump service in e.g 15 years, the part will be available.
Vacuum Control
The V.100 Premium X uses a colour-coded bar display to show you the current vacuum level as the machine works. When it reaches maximum pressure, you press the Seal button to complete the weld. This is what LAVA calls manual operation.
For most foods, meat, fish, vegetables, and batch-cooked meals, you seal at full vacuum. But for pressure-sensitive items like soft berries, fresh bread, or delicate herbs, the bar display lets you watch the pressure build and trigger the seal before it reaches maximum. That stops you from crushing soft produce while still getting a proper airtight seal.
One thing worth knowing: pressure level adjustment on the V.100 Premium X is possible but not practicable. It is inconvenient and less precise than the V.300 range, which has a dedicated pressure-regulation valve and a precise gauge. If fine-tuned pressure control for delicate foods is a priority for your workflow, the V.300 Black or V.300 White would be the better fit.
Not Just Bags! Containers, Jars, and Pots Too
The V.100 Premium X switches to container mode with a single button press. In container mode, the machine works with LAVA vacuum containers made from glass, plastic, or stainless steel, as well as standard preserving jars, cans, and pots with compatible lids.
This is useful if you marinate in jars, or store anything that does not suit in a bag. The same machine handles both without any additional tools.
The sealing time is also fully adjustable, which means the V.100 Premium X handles everything from thin dry-aging bags through to 200-micron industrial-thickness foil. You do not need to switch machines depending on what you are packing.
Compatible Bags, Rolls, and Dry-Aging Bags
The V.100 Premium X works with any embossed vacuum bag or roll up to 34cm wide. LAVA’s own vacuum sealer bags and vacuum seal rolls are produced in Switzerland from plasticiser-free PE/PA material, taste-neutral, odour-free, and compatible with every vacuum packing machine on the market.
If you are dry-aging beef or lamb at home, LAVA’s dry-aging bags work directly with this machine. They are purpose-built for the dry-aging process and available in sizes suited to cuts of all sizes.
For sous vide cooking, pair the V.100 Premium X with the LAVA sous vide stick, seal your steak or fish in a LAVA bag, and cook it in a temperature-controlled water bath for consistent, restaurant-quality results at home.
Who Uses the V.100 Premium X
Home cooks who buy in bulk: Batch-cook on weekends, seal everything, and have meals ready for the month with zero freezer burn.
Hunters and game processors: Seal large quantities of venison, wild boar, or other game quickly after a hunt. The 1,000-bag consecutive capacity means you can process a full day’s haul without stopping.
Fishermen: Seal fresh catch within hours and keep it in freezer-quality condition for months, not days.
Dry-aging at home: The adjustable sealing time makes the V.100 Premium X fully compatible with LAVA’s dry-aging bags for beef or lamb aged in your own fridge.
Sous vide cooking: Seal precisely before dropping into a water bath for consistent, controlled results.

The key difference between the V.100 Premium X and the V.200 Premium X is how the sealing step works. On the V.100 Premium X, the pump starts automatically, and then you press the Seal button once the colour bar shows the desired vacuum level. On the V.200 Premium X, the entire cycle, vacuum and seal, runs fully automatic with no manual step required. Same specs, same pump quality, different level of hand-holding.
If you prefer to control when the seal fires (especially useful for liquid-heavy foods or marinated items), the V.100 and V.200 Premium X give you that control. If you want to load the bag, press start, and walk away, the V.200 Premium X is the next step up.
For more vacuum pressure (-0.96 bar vs -0.94 bar) and a built-in analogue pressure gauge for precise control, the V.300 Black & White range is the step above that.

LAVA V.100 Premium X Common Questions
What is the difference between the V.100 Basic and the V.100 Premium X?
The V.100 Basic runs at 400W with a standard single-seal bar and a narrower 34cm bag width. The V.100 Premium X steps up to 500W, a supporting magnetic closing system, the LAVA Turbo Pump (LTP) with double ball bearings, a double-weld seal bar, and a wider 34cm capacity. The result is a higher vacuum pressure (-0.94 bar vs lower on the Basic), faster cycle times, and a seal strong enough for slightly wet foods like meat and fish.
What is the difference between the V.100 Premium X and the V.200 Premium X?
The specs are almost identical: the same pump, the same wattage, the same vacuum pressure, and the same seal width. The key difference lies in operation.
On the V.100 Premium X, the process is fully manual — the machine vacuums, and you manually decide when to trigger the seal.
On the V.200 Premium X, you get both options: it can run fully automatically from vacuum to seal, or you can operate it manually for more control.
Can I adjust the vacuum level on the V.100 Premium X?
Yes, but it is not practicable and not as precise as on the V.300 range. The V.100 Premium X has a colour bar display rather than an analogue pressure gauge, so you initiate the seal when the bar reaches your desired level. The pressure regulation accessory (L+) is compatible but sold separately and not standard. For regular pressure-sensitive sealing, the V.300 Black or V.300 White with a built-in pressure gauge and L+ pressure regulator is more practical.
Can this machine seal dry-aging bags?
Yes. The V.100 Premium X has adjustable sealing times, so it handles every foil, from thin dry-aging bags through to 200-micron industrial-thickness foil. Use it with LAVA’s dry-aging bags to age beef or lamb at home.
Does it work with containers and jars?
Yes. One button press switches it to container mode. It works with LAVA G-line vacuum containers (glass, plastic, stainless steel) and standard preserving jars or pots with a compatible valve lid.
How many bags can it seal before it needs a break?
Up to 1,000 consecutive sealings. The fan-cooled housing and oversized sealing transformer prevent overheating during extended runs, which is why this machine is well-suited to high-volume use rather than occasional kitchen tasks.
What size bags does it take?
It accepts any embossed vacuum bag or roll up to 34cm wide. Bags up to 31cm can sit within the removable drip tray; bags up to 34cm are positioned across the sealing chamber outside the tray.

My v100 is a professional vacuum sealer for a reasonable price. It is easy to operate and works just fine.

After several vacuum packers (all of them broke down), I wanted to invest in quality. I realised that cheaper machines just have half of the watts or even less. 250 watts machines always run at their limit. This is why they overheat! Of course, this is simple physics. I am delighted with my V.100 Premium. Overheating is impossible. Quality has its price, but I think in the long term it is even cheaper.
