Why Stainless Mesh Matters

Cut-resistant fabrics can help with light protection, but this glove uses woven stainless steel mesh, the same principle used in chainmail, to stop blade contact before it reaches the skin.

Level 5 Cut Resistance

Cut resistance for protective gloves is rated on a scale, with Level 5 being the highest standard rating and indicating 100% cut protection against blade contact.

The Non-Knife Hand Is Most at Risk

When boning, trimming, or shucking, the hand holding the knife is under direct control. The other hand, the one steadying or holding the product, is the one most often nicked or cut.

Protection When Working Fast or Wet

The glove is especially useful when product is slippery, wet, or difficult to hold, because it protects the supporting hand against accidental contact.

Protects Against Slips, Shell Edges, and Close Blade Passes

Boning a leg of lamb, trimming silverskin from beef, breaking down chicken, or opening oysters all place the supporting hand close to sharp edges. The stainless steel mesh helps stop a slip from becoming a cut.

Meat Processing

Useful for boning, trimming, game processing, and breaking down larger cuts around sharp blades.

Oyster Shucking

Helps protect against both the shucking knife slipping and sharp shell edges.

Kitchen Prep

Suitable for general prep where the supporting hand works close to sharp blades.

Available Sizes

S Size 7
M Size 8
L Size 9
XL Size 10

Washable to 100°C and Left-Right Wearable

The stainless steel mesh can be washed at high temperature, which matters for hygiene in food processing contexts. The glove is not handed, so it can be worn on whichever hand needs protection for the task.

Best For

Home butchery and game processing alongside the Landig W100 Meat Grinder and 3L Sausage Filler, oyster and shellfish preparation, and anyone working with sharp blades on the kitchen bench who wants reliable protection on the supporting hand.

Colour Option

Black colourway shown. Also available in white with the same woven stainless steel mesh construction and Level 5 cut resistance rating.

LAVA Kitchen Knifes — Common Questions

How do I know the tape needs replacing?

The bag starts sticking to the seal bar, the seals come out messy or incomplete, or the tape itself looks browned, frayed, or scorched. Any of those means the tape is worn and a fresh strip will restore clean sealing.
The one that matches your machine and its seal type. Entry models use a single seam, Premium models a double, and commercial and industrial models a triple. Select your exact model, V.100 through V.1200P, from the selector so the tape fits your bar.
It covers the heated seal bar so the bag film does not stick to the metal as it welds. That gives a clean seal and lets the bag release without tearing. Without it, the film would fuse to the bar.
No, and no tools are needed. Disconnect the machine, release the holders at each end, peel off the old tape, lay the new strip along the bar, and refit the holders.
It is a wear part, so it depends on how much you seal. Heavy or commercial use wears it faster. Replace it when bags start sticking or the tape shows wear, rather than on a set schedule. Keeping a spare strip on hand means no downtime when it goes.
