What the Liquid Trap Lid Does
The liquid trap lid holds the separator that catches liquid before it reaches the vacuum pump. It is a small part, but it plays an important role when sealing wet or marinated foods.
Protects the Vacuum Pump
When you vacuum seal wet or marinated food, some liquid and moisture gets drawn up out of the bag during the cycle.
The liquid separator catches that liquid so it does not reach the vacuum pump, helping protect the pump from damage.
The Lid Holds the Separator
The liquid trap lid is the housing that holds the separator in place on the machine.

This is the lid that holds the separator. The filter is the element that sits inside the separator and traps the fine particles, and it is a separate part (available for the V.300). If your suction is weak because of clogging rather than a damaged lid, you may need the filter instead.
